Best experience, the fish was so great and 2 days later we went back to buy some of the red house wine, which was so delicious. The staff was absoulutely adorable. We would go back to Stari Grad and Hvar Island only to visit Dionis again.

We discovered this gem by accident, while driving around, and I'm really happy we found it. Food is amazing, fresh and very tasty. Atmosphere is relaxing, as you are in the middle of StariGrad plain. It is a family run restaurant and staff is very attentive. We will definitely come back.

This is not just a restaurant – it’s a magical place. First of all, the location itself is extraordinary: right in the middle of nowhere, far from everything – and that’s exactly what makes it so wonderful. You can simply relax just by being there. A few tables under the vines, small vegetable gardens all around… I highly recommend taking a walk while waiting for your food. The kitchen is made up of three small stone houses – such a charming detail! The food is fresh, seasonal, and prepared with so much care. The menu is not long, because it reflects what’s available that day – and that’s the beauty of it. Fresh bread, delicious olive oil, refreshing lemonades, and a complimentary salad with your meal. We tried fish, meat, grilled vegetables, and later on the traditional peka (meat and fish) – every single dish was simply amazing. Flavors are simple but perfect, because the ingredients speak for themselves. The chef truly knows what he’s doing. A special mention must go to Maria, who took care of us during our visits. She’s such a wonderful person, reciting the menu by heart and making us feel at home for two whole evenings. The service here is just as memorable as the food. And the prices – honestly surprising in the best way. For six people, with a lot of food and two liters of wine, we paid less than anywhere else on the island. The next time, with four people, we even asked if the bill was correct, because it seemed so low compared to the quality and amount of food. If you’re visiting Hvar, you absolutely must come here – even if it means walking from Stari Grad. It’s not only about the food, but the whole experience: the beauty of the place, the warmth of the people, and the feeling of sharing a family meal. A memory I’ll carry with me for a very long time. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience!

Our favourite meal in Croatia over the last 10 days! Authentic, delicious, fresh, affordable. With the most wonderful, friendly service from Maria and her family! Wine for 12 Euro a litre, and we shared the fresh fish with salad, potatoes and veggies, which was 23 Euro! A total of 35 Euro for that kind of meal is unheard of in Hvar, which is a notoriously expensive island. Efharisto Poli!!

Awesome restaurant !! The grilled dorade and the salad (23€/person) were delicious and the place so niiice ! We even had free shots I would take people to Croatie just for this restaurant Ps : only meat or fish choice, real meal only possible for dîner, and it closes if its raining
